Situation
• Very high temperatures have been affecting several parts of the country. On 27 April, a max. temperature of 45 °C was observed in Bankura (West Bengal state) and in Wardha (Maharashtra state).
• Local media reported over 290 deaths over the past weeks, of which over 150 in Andhra Pradesh state, 49 in Telangana state and 109 in Odisha state, as of 27 April.
• Over the next 24-48 h, high temperatures may still affect the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkahand, West Bengal, Odisha and Haryana.
